Estonia

Estonia is a beautiful North Eastern European country with a difficult past with a census population of 1,322,610 people in 2022. Estonia is bordered by Latvia and Russia and was a member of the Soviet Union from the 1940’s until August of 1991 when it became an independent republic again. Due to this, there are still deep wounds from the Soviet occupation that affect the people there today. Estonia has also been a member of the European Union since 2004. The population of Estonia is 68.5% native Estonian and 29.6% Russian with other nationalities making up the remaining 1.9%. The country of Estonia has been known as one of the least religious countries in the world in recent years with only 14% of the population claiming that religion plays an important role in their lives and up to 64% of the population claiming no religious affiliation or beliefs at all. We see in this a deep responsibility and a beautiful opportunity to minister to others and bring the message of hope that we have!
